With a slight delay but great excitement, I'm thrilled to share some fantastic news – Google has announced the gradual rollout of a native connector for Excel. Wow!
The feature is available only through a preview with restricted access, but this is still great news. It means that very soon, all users will be able to upload and work with Excel documents within the Looker Studio environment.
The connector does come with some limitations:
1. The maximum supported file size is currently 100MB.
2. The maximum number of supported columns from an Excel sheet is 10,000.
3. Only local Excel files (on the user's computer) can be uploaded.
4. The header row must be a single row.
5. All cells within a column must be of the same type.
6. Password-protected files are not supported.
7. Macros are not supported.
8. Pivot tables are not supported.
