Recently, I came across a publication by Paul Marcombes, where he mentioned that you can query Google Trends data using the BigFunctions library. This was a surprising discovery for me. I had been working with BigFunctions and BigQuery for quite some time, but I didn't expect such a useful feature.

Integrating data about search trend dynamics from Google Trends into SEO dashboards allows you to study users' current interests and respond quickly to changes. Search query data helps optimize content, discover new topics, and refine existing materials. By analyzing trends, we can better understand what interests our audience and identify opportunities to improve SEO performance.

Using BigFunctions and Google Trends is quite simple. The syntax is intuitive, and there’s no need for complicated manipulations. You can see an example of use in the embedded image, where I demonstrate how easy it is to query Google Trends data.

It's important to note that Google Trends has a limitation — frequent queries are excluded from the analysis. This is crucial to ensure you don't miss significant trends.

This discovery makes data analysis more effective for SEO specialists and marketers. With access to up-to-date search query data in BigQuery, we can gain deeper insights into audience behavior and develop more effective strategies.
