Stape Update – A Step Beyond Zapier

Google Sheets is a cost-effective and convenient tool that about 40% of marketers and sales teams use to store and manage data. Connecting Google Sheets allows for easy, automatic tracking of any interactions or conversions, simplifying data analysis for your team.

Zapier is often used for sending data to Google Sheets, but its free plan is limited. Now, the Stape team has introduced a dedicated Google Sheets tag for server Google Tag Manager (sGTM), making this process even smoother. Here’s a quick setup guide:

1. Create an sGTM container and set up data tracking (e.g., from Google Analytics 4).

2. Download the Google Sheets tag template from GitHub or the Template Gallery.

3. Create a new tag with these configurations:

- action type (add row or update cells);

- row range and Google Sheets URL;

- data to send.

Add a trigger and test the tag. If set up correctly, your data will start appearing in Google Sheets.

This integration lets you capture conversion data and track the channels that drive leads without the usual 24-48 hour delay. It also enables real-time monitoring to ensure that events are accurately recorded in your web analytics tools.
